Rich
is a Master of Recreation Registered Maine Guide and has been trip leading
and guiding in Maine for over 17 years. He is a Registered Maine Guide
and a proud member of the Maine Wilderness Guides Organization. Born
in Anchorage, Alaska, he grew up and has spent most of his life in the great
state of Maine. He has earned B.S. degrees in both Management &
Accounting from the University of Maine, and is now working to complete his
Masters degree in Education. He is fully certified in Wilderness First
Aid, and makes safety the number 1 priority on all of his trips.
He is a middle school math teacher in the Richmond, Maine school department
and has a great passion for working and teaching children. Before getting into
education, he spent over 14 years at L.L. Bean and has had the opportunity to
use and test many outdoor products over the years, as well as hike and
paddle all of the trails and waterways that he guides on. On his canoe
trips he is a stickler for details, and always ensures a safe, exciting
and fun adventure.
Cheryl has worked
as a paralegal for over 20 years, but has recently gone back to school, part
time, to pursue her dream of working as a full time nurse. She has
extensive experience in the Maine outdoors, and enjoys sharing her
experiences with clients. She is a master of organization, and like
Rich, is a stickler for details, and always ensures the safety and well
being of clients on every trip.
Rich and Cheryl
live in a small log home in the woods in Mount Vernon, Maine and use their
home as a base
camp for operations. With two young daughters who love the outdoors,
and their energetic black lab "Baxter", they can usually be found hiking, backpacking or canoeing on a "Maine
Trail".
Together as a
team, Rich & Cheryl offer exciting outdoor experiences on several of
Maine's waterways & hiking trails. They
stand behind their commitment to their clients in offering their skills &
knowledge to coordinate your adventure and to provide a safe, legal and
quality trip for you and your group!
