CHESUNCOOK LAKE CANOE TRIPS

A great trip for beginners and families, a canoe trip on Chesuncook Lake offers a wilderness experience on Maine's 3rd largest lake.  A waterway made famous by Henry David Thoreau, Chesuncook Lake offers fantasic views of Katahdin, Maine's highest peak, many wildlife sightings, and is home to Maine's only roadless town, Chesuncook Village.

We'll put in at Umbazookus Stream and paddle into Chesuncook Lake from the northeastern end of the lake, (which is much less crowed than the southern end).  Each night will be spent at lakeside campsites, and there will be plenty of time for relaxing, fishing, and moose watching.  A paddle into Brandy Pond or Caucomgomoc Stream are excellent places to fish for Maine brook trout or view moose!

This is a 3 night/4 day trip that is all lake paddling, and is a great spring, summer or fall trip.  A trip through history, Chesuncook Lake is another Maine treasure worth seeing and experiencing!
