We'll paddle over 40 miles from Chamberlain
Bridge to Churchill Dam, canoeing through some of the most beautiful scenery
in the eastern United States. This is a 4 night/5 day trip.
On this trip we'll paddle across three of the Allagash Headwater Lakes, starting at
Chamberlain Thoroughfare Bridge and finishing at Churchill Dam on Churchill Lake.
There is only one short portage on the entire trip. One of the
highlights of the trip is an excursion to the abandoned tramway & trains on
Eagle Lake, and time permitting, a day hike to the Pump Handle Ledges on Eagle Lake
for some awesome views of the Allagash Waterway. Our campsites each
night will be lakeside, and each day there will be plenty of time for
relaxing, swimming, fishing, or moose watching.
Bring plenty of film as we are
likely to see bald eagles, osprey, moose and deer. A trip through
history, the Allagash Lakes are a treasure worth seeing and experiencing. |
